Track Biography:
The Island Hunt dates back to the early 1900's and is based in Gorey Co.Wexford. Courtown point-to-point is held under the auspices of the Island Hunt.
Last year was the first running of the fixture at its current venue, and already the track has been witness to some very promising looking individuals. Burning Ambition took the winners race on the day and has since clocked up three futher pointing wins, a hunter chase win and ran very well for a long time at the Cheltenham Festival. The Pierce Power-trained gelding is now a leading fancy for Aintree's Foxhunters Chase.
Courtown and the surrounding area is blessed with fabulous long sandy beaches stretching from Kilpatrick beach which is north of Courtown and should you drive down the coast road from Courtown to Wexford you will come across a plethora of beaches for you to chose from.

How To Get There
By Road
From Dublin - Take the M11 towards Wexford. Exit at junction 23 from the M11 towards Gorey/Courtown. Follow the R742 to Courtown. The racecourse will be signposted from here.
By Air
Our point-to-point is located one hour and 20 minutes from Dublin airport.

Combined with extensive free parking we have a clear viewing track that allows race goers to get as close to the action as possible.
We can also provide disabled parking on the day if racegoers inform one of our parking stewards on their way into the point-to-point.
We have portaloo’s and changing facilities for toddlers on the course.
In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Chips, Burgers, Soup, sandwiches, sweets and drinks are available on the track which are all provided by a professional catering company.
There is also plenty of space for families to enjoy picnics if you choose to bring one with you for the day.
If you would like a sweet treat during the day we also have a confectionary stall at the meeting.

There will be a coffee van in situ for the days racing, serving teas and coffee for those looking for a caffine hit throughout the day.
We will also have a full bar on site, so there is something to suit everyone!

Yes, please feel free to bring your dog to the races. However, please ensure to always have them on a lead

We are lucky enough to have wide open space for children to play in a safe environment.
No, unfortunately we do not have ATM facilities on course. Hit up an ATM on route and try to win some cash throughout the day !

Courtown point-to-point is an ideal day out for all the family, giving you the opportunity to sample the heart of national hunt racing.
There will be a bouncing castle and a number of childrens activities on the day to be sure to keep them entertained all day long.
You have the opportunity to get a close up of the action when the runners are being saddled and paraded in the parade ring before their race. There is great excitement for racegoers as once you have picked out your favourite horse you can proceed to the bookies to have a little flutter.
Nothing beats the excitement of the closing stages of a race and our track ensures that you have a birdseye view. Our final fence and finishing straight are both fantastic viewing points for both spectators in their cars and spectators on foot.

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned BATTLE OF ACTIUM finished a fine second in a big-field maiden at Turtulla on debut and he can be expected to step up here to continue the good run of form that the Colin Bowe team have been enjoying in recent weeks. Donnchadh Doyle also has his four-year-olds in good form, and fresh from a Portrush double in the age group last Saturday, he could be represented by Firak who also finished second on debut at Turtulla.

MOONLIT WINGS is a well-related mare that ran well for a long way on her debut at Ballinaboola and with the horse that she finished just two lengths behind, Subtle Quest, being one of two subsequent maiden winners to emerge from the race, it was a likeable introduction. Rockfield Fame and Quivvy Lough both hold multiple engagements elsewhere, Ulterior Motives has struggled to follow up her second at Kildorrery, which may leave Megans Marvel as perhaps her main danger. She finished a fine third in difficult conditions at Ballycahane on debut and can improve.

GOODOLDTIMES has stayed on very strongly when hitting the crossbar on his two outings to date, including when making up a lot of late ground to chase home Costalotmore at Lingstown last month. The form of that race received some nice boosts last weekend when both the third and fourth placed horses came out and won their maidens, and he will be expected to do so here. Ashtown Lad made a costly looking mistake at Liscarroll last time and may well step up, Poncherello failed to back up his debut when soundly beaten at Turtulla, but he is worthy of a second chance, whilst Tattletale, Clondaw Dancer, and Cantgetenough are others to consider.

The form of his Lingstown success has already received some fine boosts, and if Goodoldtimes were to win earlier on the card, it would further frank his winning effort. Myrons has not looked back since changing yards ahead of this season and finished third behind Ucello Conti at Thurles, whilst Colonel Sam, Ya Boy Ya and Ballymorris Rose are others with claims.
